A considerable difference in estimated market value exists between the national football squads of Germany and Curaçao, according to a comparison published by Dutch football outlet VoetbalNieuws.nl.
According to VoetbalNieuws.nl, Germany ranks among the most highly valued national teams in the world, while Curaçao’s squad carries a substantially lower aggregate market value. Curaçao competes internationally under the auspices of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF).
Player market valuations are generally determined by a range of factors, including age, club-level performance, contract duration, and international experience. National teams from larger footballing nations tend to benefit from the presence of players active at top clubs within Europe’s most competitive leagues.
Despite the disparity in market value, Curaçao has made measurable progress on the international football stage in recent years, in part due to the inclusion of dual-nationality players competing at the highest levels of club football.
The parties concerned could not be reached for comment.
The difference in market value reflects broader structural inequalities within global football, wherein smaller footballing nations typically operate with more limited financial resources and infrastructure compared to established European counterparts.
