AMSTERDAM — Tayyab Ikram, president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), has commented on the organization of the ice hockey world championship scheduled to take place in Amsterdam in 2026.

According to Hockey.nl, Ikram provided his perspective on tournament preparations and expectations for the event in the Dutch capital during an interview.

The FIH president emphasized the importance of a well-organized championship. The ice hockey world championship ranks among the most significant international sporting events in the sport and attracts thousands of spectators and athletes from various countries annually.

Amsterdam was previously selected as the host city for the tournament. The organization of such international sporting events requires extensive preparation in areas including facilities, logistics, and security.
